Etihad Guest rewards UK travellers with straightforward miles on flights, hotels and everyday spending — redeem them for award tickets from London or upgrades to Business class on key routes to Abu Dhabi and Asia.

Etihad Airways serves London Heathrow with direct flights to its Abu Dhabi hub. From there passengers reach more than 110 destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia. In 2026 the airline’s loyalty programme, Etihad Guest, gives members clear ways to earn and spend miles without complicated rules.

The programme remains free to join. Members earn on Etihad flights and partner airlines, plus hotels, car rentals and shopping. Higher tiers bring lounge access, priority services and chauffeur transfers in Abu Dhabi.

What is the Etihad Guest loyalty programme?

Etihad Guest lets travellers collect miles whenever they fly, stay or spend with partner brands. Miles convert into award flights, seat upgrades or hotel stays. The system also tracks separate Tier Miles that unlock Silver, Gold, Platinum and Emerald status.

British members benefit most on routes from London to Abu Dhabi and beyond. The programme integrates with the Etihad app for easy tracking of balances and redemptions.

How to join Etihad Guest

Signing up takes moments on the Etihad website or app. Create an account, activate it and begin earning straight away. New members may claim miles for trips taken up to three months earlier.

No fee applies. Activation happens instantly, so the account works immediately for future bookings.

Membership tiers and benefits in 2026

Etihad Guest operates five tiers. Bronze is the entry level. Qualification uses a rolling 12-month period.

A 25 per cent reduction on Silver, Gold and Platinum thresholds runs until 31 March 2027 for eligible members. Standard requirements remain:

  • Silver: 25,000 Tier Miles (10,000 from flying)
  • Gold: 50,000 Tier Miles (20,000 from flying)
  • Platinum: 125,000 Tier Miles (40,000 from flying)
  • Emerald: USD 150,000 spend on Etihad flights (taxes excluded)

Benefits increase with each tier. Silver offers lounge access and bonus miles. Gold adds priority boarding and chauffeur options. Platinum and Emerald deliver First lounge access, no miles expiry and extra custom choices such as complimentary upgrades or home check-in.

All tiers include free chat Wi-Fi. Higher levels unlock fast-track immigration and dedicated contact support.

Ways to earn miles

Members earn miles on Etihad and partner flights, including Virgin Australia, Saudia Airlines and Gulf Air. Hotels and car rentals with programme partners also contribute.

Credit cards such as the ADIB Etihad Guest card provide bonus miles and Tier Miles on everyday spend. Shopping with more than 300 online partners works through the app. Miles on the Go links Visa cards for instant rewards on retail purchases.

Insider tip — link cards in the Etihad app before a big shopping trip to capture miles automatically without extra steps.

How to spend miles

Redeem miles for award seats on Etihad or partner flights. Cash-plus-miles options cover any available seat. Upgrades to Business or First class appear in the app once a ticket is booked.

Hotel stays worldwide accept miles or a miles-plus-cash mix. The Reward Shop offers gadgets and travel accessories. GuestPay and the Etihad Guest Reward Card turn miles into cash equivalents at Visa merchants.
